It’s turning into a very busy day here in the NFC South. I just filed a story to our news side saying that the Carolina Panthers will take Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the first overall pick if Luck decides to enter the 2011 draft. But let’s talk a little bit about the logic behind Luck. The Panthers are hoping he decides to enter the draft, and he has until Jan. 15 to make that decision. Source: ESPN.com
Bullcrap. They're dangling the carrot in front of the horse. They need A LOT help and they want teams to approach them with trades ideas.
I agree with that... but it isn't far fetched for the worst team in the league to go and get one of the best pure passing quarterback prospects in the last decade. Not far fetched at all.
Get the inside info from Jim Harbaugh that Luck is coming out (which he should...any doubt, see Locker's decision of 2010) and hire Harbaugh as head coach to ensure Luck is in a Panthers uniform for 2011.
While I think it is financially idiotic what Locker and Luck have done the last two years, I respect the hell out of them for passing on the guaranteed mega-bucks to enjoy college for another year and get their degrees.
