CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith has been taken to the locker room for observation after injuring his left knee in the first quarter against the New Orleans Saints. Smith walked to the locker room under his own power and the Panthers say his return is questionable Sunday. A few moments later, Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro injured his left leg and was carted off the field after having an air cast placed on his leg.
