Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd might not be back with the New England Patriots next season, Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe reports. Welker will become an unrestricted free-agent. Last year the Patriots placed the franchise tag on him but aren't expected to do the same this year. If they did no it would cost the team $11.4 million. Lloyd is due a $3 million option bonus in addition to a $1.9 million base salary, Lloyd according to Bedard has shown he is "not quite the right guy" to threaten defenses down as the "X" receiver. If we can exchange Lloyd for Mike Wallace that's an upgrade. But Welker can't just be replaced that easily.
