The New England Patriots have agreed to terms with free agent wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Terms were not disclosed. A fourth round pick out of Illinois by the San Francisco 49ers in 2003, Lloyd bounced around several franchises before his career took off in 2010, earning a Pro Bowl nod after catching 77 passes for 1,448 yards and 11 touchdowns in a Josh McDaniels-directed offense. Lloyd had talked openly about reuniting with McDaniels, who is now the offensive coordinator in New England. Though he'll turn 31 before training camp, Lloyd gives the Patriots a deep threat at the receiver position, a weakness that was evident throughout the 2011 season. Source: Mac's Football Blog
^^This. He must have wised up and taken a small contract instead of the mega-deal he was looking for.
