New England Patriots cornerback Devin McCourty was fined $10,000 for unnecessary roughness for his hit on Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Andrew Quarless. The league office fined him specifically for striking a defenseless player in the head and neck area. Meanwhile, the NFL also fined nose guard Vince Wilfork $5,000 for a facemask.
