The Patriots announced they released wide receiver Donald Jones on Friday. Jones, who spent his first three seasons with the Bills, signed a three-year deal with New England in March. But the deal contained no guaranteed money, so the move doesn't cost them anything. He caught 41 passes for 443 yards and four scores in 12 games last season. Source: FFToolbox
Weird, I expected Jones to fit well in NE, even had him pegged as a possible breakout. He looked decent in Buff at times despite their generally shoddy QB play, seemed like the kind of guy who could blow up with a good QB and offense. Oh well.
My optimism for this season is slowly declining as time passes. The moves they've made on offense is eerily similar to the way they dismantled the defense after the last super bowl win. Its never recovered.
