There is nothing cooking between free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens and the Patriots, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports. This according to a league source.

Owens does want to keep playing in the NFL and has been in discussion with teams throughout the offseason, but there isn't anything going on with Owens and the Pats at this time.

Owens was working out with Tom Brady yesterday at USC, so the parallel was drawn between the 39-year-old and the receiver-needy Patriots. For now, there's nothing.

He can still contribute in a small way to a team in need of WRs due to injuries or something. If he did not have the baggage and rep of a team killer, he'd still be playing probably. His own fault.
