Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports during a conference call today with the media, Patriots coach Bill Belichick was asked if he considered bringing Burress to Foxboro, before settling on Chad Ochocinco. The Patriots coach acknowledged the Pats had in fact checked him out. â€We did look at him in the offseason just because of his general availability as we normally do – look at all the players that are not connected with a team,†Belichick said of Burress, who has 10 catches for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns in four games for the Jets. â€We looked at everybody. Obviously, you don’t get everybody,†Belichick said. â€You bring some together. Some don’t. But we’ll work with what we got. They’ll work with what they got. And see what goes on.â€
