Moments after Wes Welker agreed a two-year deal with the Denver Broncos, a report surfaced from CSNNE.com's Tom Curran that Tom Brady was enraged the New England Patriots let his favorite target get away. Curran spoke to a source close to Brady who said the words "disgrace" and "disservice" were used to describe Brady's feelings. Brady was under the impression that restructuring his contract a few weeks ago would help the Patriots retain Welker. Welker agreed to a two-year, $12-million deal with the Broncos on Wednesday afternoon. Welker reportedly contacted the Patriots to see if the team would match the offer and apparently the Patriots were not interested. Source: Providence Journal
So this whole story is based on a wrong-worded tweet. The "enraged" party is actually the source, not Brady. Brady's true feelings probably aren't far from that though.
Brady's got to be somewhat pissed that he took a favorable contract for the Pats and all the wide receiving talent that was out there is going to other teams at a rapid pace. With Jennings left and dealing with the Packers right now leaves Brady with the possibility of Gibson and/or Amendola...a far cry from Wes Welker... He's gotta be hoping for some roster cuts...
