New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen is undergoing wrist surgery on Monday and will miss "a few weeks" according to a report by Jay Glazer of Fox Sports. Vereen gutted out the injury against the Bills, but Monday's surgery will sideline him for what sounds like 2-3 games. Per Glazer, Vereen broke a "small bone" in the wrist on his first play of Sunday's win over Buffalo. He experienced "numbness" in the joint after the game because the cracked bone sits directly on a nerve. This is really tough luck for Vereen, who has been turning into the New England version of the Saints' Darren Sproles. Vereen was the Patriots primary ball carrier against the Buffalo Bills Sunday after Stevan Ridley was benched due to fumbling issues. Source: The Redzone
