Patriots running back Stevan Ridley did not see the field again Week 1 at Buffalo after losing a fumble at the 8:40 mark of the second quarter. Ridley slipped on the play and lost control of the football, but since he was not touched down, the Bills were able to poke the football loose and recover it. Shane Vereen saw most of the carries out of the backfield after Ridley's fumble and finished with a team-high 101 rushing yards. Ridley finished with nine carries for 46 yards. He had no receptions.
