The New England Patriots filled out their 53-man roster by re-signing running back and return man Leon Washington, according to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter.

Washington was cut by the Patriots last week but had drawn interest from teams this week when his salary wouldn’t be guaranteed for the season. Washington worked out for the New York Jets before being brought back by the Patriots.

Last season with the Seattle Seahawks, Washington tied Josh Cribbs’ NFL record for most punt return touchdowns with eight. The veteran versatile running back has amassed 2,213 rushing yards, 1,127 receiving yards, 1,668 punt return yards and 6,315 kick return yards over his seven-year career.

I think that's a decent signing for New England.
