Two weeks ago, Kellen Winslow apparently wasn't healthy enough to help the New England Patriots.

But with Aaron Hernandez ailing with an ankle injury, the Patriots apparently have decided Winslow's troublesome knee is healthy enough now to help them. Per ESPN.com, the Patriots and the veteran tight end have agreed to a one-year contract.

Winslow was released in training camp by the Seattle Seahawks, but gets a chance in New England as it appears Hernandez could miss up to a month with his injured ankle. The Patriots run a two tight end set with Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski the majority of the time, and third tight end Visanthe Shiancoe is already on injured reserve recall with a hamstring injury.
