With Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski listed as doubtful in this week's injury report, it was thought there was a chance, however small it was, he could take the field for New England.

According to NFL.com, though, Gronkowski hasn't traveled to Buffalo with his teammates. Which would indicate that Gronkowski will not play at all vs. the Bills.

That wouldn't be an enormous surprise since Gronkowski continues to rehab his forearm and back and he only began practicing recently. Besides, there was a report a few weeks ago that the team was targeting Week 3 as Gronkowski's return date (the Patriots play on Thursday in Week 2).

“We take it day to day," coach Bill Belichick said early this week. "I don't know any other way to do it. We don't know how he's going to be feeling in two days. Or any other player. It's not about him, it's about any player that's coming back from injury. That's how we do it. Nobody has a crystal ball."
