He spent his rookie season as the Raiders third-string quarterback, but he played in 12 of Oakland's games during his sophomore campaign, starting eight of them. However, Walter has played in just three regular season games since the 2006-07 season. "It's a process," Walter said. "There is no question about it. It's a process and there's still tons of work on my end that I need to do like get caught up on a lot of things." He hopes to be successful in New England's first preseason game Thursday night against Philadelphia. "I just take any game as it's important, whether it's preseason or whatever," Walter said. "It's your resume that is out there in front of everybody to see. It's what you put on tape. The goal is win a football game as a team and then personally to play well and to be on top of it mentally. It's going to be a challenge, obviously, because I don't know if I've even been here a week yet but I can't say anything other than [you're playing] for your resume and you want it to look good."
