I just got an e-mail from Fox Sports saying that there is a deal in principle where Chris Paul will go to the LA Clippers.

    Stay tuned

If I was the Lakers I'd block the crap out of this trade and take it to court. The NBA says that the Hornets need Chris Paul in New Orleans and then trades him anyway? I'd sue the CRAP outta the NBA if I was the Lakers. This whole league is absolute GARBAGE! David Stern is making Bud Selig look competent.

It's essentially CP3 for a talented rising star in Gordon. Lakers offered nothing close to this.

And a player just drafted in the lottery, plus a unprotected Minnesota pick (which could be the #1) plus a borderline All Star quality Center

Actually not to bad of a haul for the Hornets

Hornets made out pretty good in this trade.

The craziest thing is that the Lakers aren't the best team in the Staples Center anymore. They need to do something soon because all they've done this offseason is lose Lamar Odom.

i think everyone's main problem with the whole CP thing is that it feels as if Stern is trying to manipulate every roster in the NBA.

Stern's spin on this is that he nixed the lakers deal because the hornets weren't getting enough in return and that would be fine if he were the g.m. of the hornets but didn't the owners put front office personnel in place in new orleans to do things like this? stern is not the g.m. in new orleans but he forced himself into the role without anyone's permission.

Yea Stern said the front office of the Hornets had full control over the roster. They worked for a long time to get that deal done then Stern undercut the whole thing. I don't think he could possibly have handled it any worse than he did. He was just trying to prevent the Lakers from landing both Howard and Paul.
