Plaxico Burress To Watch Super Bowl XLV From Prison

  1. Three years ago, Plaxico Burress was one of the heroes of Super Bowl XLII as the Giants spoiled the Patriots' shot at an undefeated season, but on Sunday (pregame at 2 p.m. ET, game time at 6 p.m. ET), the former star wide receiver will watch Super Bowl XLV — which features some of his former Steelers teammates — from a New York prison, TMZ reported Friday. According to a New York state prison official, Burress has full TV privileges and will be able to watch the Steelers take on the Packers with other inmates. Burress is scheduled to be released June 6, and the Giants have said they would consider bringing him back. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has said he expects Burress to be with an NFL team next season. The 33-year-old has been jailed since September 2009, when he was sentenced to two years after accidentally shooting himself with an illegal handgun at a Manhattan night club in November 2008.
