Tim Tebow has a $472,500 bonus coming his way according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, Tebow has unofficially triggered the "one-timer" bonus in his rookie contract for reaching the 45 percent playing time threshold of the Broncos' 2011 season. Tebow has taken every snap of the Broncos' past 7 1/2 games, which comes out to 46.9 percent of the 16-game season. He also took a few snaps in the "Tebow Package" when Kyle Orton was the Broncos' starting quarterback. Tebow won't officially become vested until every snap is counted at season's end and he won't receive the bonus until March 31. But he's already finished the hard part to achieving his "one timer," a clause common among players drafted. Source: The Redzone
And the Legend grows. How pissed is the Broncos front office right now. Unless the make the playoffs....
How selfish... He should just blow it on skimpers and booze like other football players But really good for him Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
So that is the plan. I wondered why they played him this early. Makes sense now. They know he won't be back next season there as their starting qb but they really like him personally. So, cut the starter and start him, cause the bonus to kick in to give him a nice sum of money to live on and then start building your team next year around someone else. If he won't tow the company line then cut him. Very shrewd. You can say that you gave Tebow a chance and he got paid more than he should have. You satisfied the fans up to a point and did right by Tebow by giving him a chance to realize his dreams.
