Brendon Ayanbadejo is a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens, he's a former undrafted free agent who worked hard enough to become Pro Bowler. He's publicly advocated a pro-gay marriage stance, in written form and now he's catching some heat for that stance, from a Baltimore politician. Emmett Burns, a politician and minister (?) in Maryland, sent Ravens owner Steve Biscotti a letter requesting that Ayanbadejo back down off his stance on gay marriage, that letter was obtained by Yahoo! Sports. "I find it inconceivable that one of your players, Mr. Brendon Ayanbadejo, would publicly endorse Same-s*x marriage, specifically, as a Raven Football player," Burns wrote to Biscotti. "Many of my constituents and your football supporters are appalled and aghast that a member of the Ravens Football Team would step into this controversial divide and try to sway public opinion one way or the other. Many of your fans are opposed to such a view and feel it has no place in a sport that is strictly for pride, entertainment and excitement." First, I am appalled and aghast at Mr. Burns usage of capital letters, you're going to bust out some "House of Delegates" letterhead and you can't take the time to properly capitalize words, come on. Secondly, Burns attempt to act like it's wrong for Ayanbadejo to have an opinion loses all credibility as soon as he points out that he and other are opposed to such a view, you see how that works, you can't tell a public figure not to have an opinion because they're a public figure if the real primary reason involves you hating that opinion. mr burns i find your close minded views appalling. Just because you hold a political office, you dont have the power to tell other people what they should think, nor what they should represent. Shame on you, you close minded hecko.
unfortunately the neocon/tea party dopes feel they do have the right to tell everyone else what to think and distort the spirit of the consitution as a means to do so while also lying about what the founding fathers said this country was supposed to be about. what sucks is good republicans like myself who simply want less governement,"sensible" social programs, good infrastructure and a good defense are made to look like buttholes by d-bags like this guy. sorry - /rant.
Real democrats and real republicans are more close than they are different, it's extremes on both sides that really separates. Oh and heck burns and I hope Jesus punches him for judging other instead of allowing god to do so.
Let him know how you feel with a thoughtfully written letter, or some gay ph0rn. emmett.burns@house.state.md.us And good for Ayenbadejo PS. Disclaimer that shouldn't have to be here but probably does. Don't really send gay pourn to a US state representative.
Chris Kluwe did it for you. But feel free to add your own. And go Vikes. Chris Kluwe: An Open Letter to Emmett Burns
Like Daniel Tosh so eloquently put it. Why not allow it. It is not like they will get into heaven anyway. God will have his goal line defense waiting for them to show up.
Works for me. I believe in god but I also believe that god is accepting. Anyways thats not a debate to have here. This guy has an opinion hes entitled to it.
That is a debate that shouldn't be on a football forum anyway. Personally, I don't care. If two men or women wants to get married then they should be able to. Especially if the two women are hot.
ESPECIALLY if those women are hot, and happen to be my neighbors and frolic about in skimpy nighties have pillow fights and marital aid try outs while "accidentally" leaving the blinds open. Oh and it's not hating Burns' opinion drag, it's that he publicly tried to have the owner of his team ban his speech.
