Once again I had to wait for the NFL network replay so I could watch the Browns @ Bears game. Well The pre-season is officially over. With the end of the pre-season we must also place on the shelf the ever common phrase “It’s only Pre-season†the phrase we use to keep from getting over excited over huge plays or to squelch fears because of bad play making or calling. By the time I had seen the game I already knew the Bears had won, that Kevin Jones was lose for the season because of a foot injury, and the final 53 man roster for our 2009 Bears. Because this was the last pre-season game there is not much to talk about the starts, those that suited up, only played a series and it was a pretty vanilla type offence. I could talk bout the amazing plays or bad plays done by the third & firth string players but it would be a waste of time. For the most part it was nice to see Robbie Gould out there doing his thing making Field goals & point after kicks. Johnny Knox name was mentioned a lot and he made some nice receptions. I wonder if his performances from Thursday’s game help him make the 53. I think Rod Hood’s poor playing may have been part of the reason he was cut. Or maybe he was just brought in to provide some depth so we could rest more of the Corners during the final pre-season game. Originally after all of the PR BS that Jerry Angelo had done I figured he was a lock for the 53 but I guess not. I must say I am worried about Matt Forte & the RB situation I really like Adrian Peterson, but after seeing what happen last season I am not sure Peterson & Garrett Wolfe can provided the necessary relief for Forte. Well folks from this point on every game counts, starting with the forever hated Green Bay Packers. I hope the Defense will be pumped & ready to go, I must say I am still worried about our DBs & hope that they perform as needed come game day. I hope Cutler continues to perform as expected or better & that his addition at the QB spot will also create a relief for Forte because the Bears will have a passing game that must be respected. Of course a lot of the respect will come from how will are WR group performs. GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!
