Just had an idea that was sparked by a post from KTrain. Seeing as we have an increasing amount of "foreigners" (Myself included), how about the user nationality next to their username? So with this, for the Americans, they could have their state flag instead of the stars and stripes which a large amount of members would have. For example: Just an idea...
I kind of remember having a country flag in your profile. Maybe it was an older version of the site? Maybe it was another site? Is this too early to be drunk? :icon_confused:
While it would be a cool idea I will have to decline to install something like this. First, only a handful of members would use it. Second, it would add another SQL query to every page that loads with that being displayed. Sorry.
Too bad. I remember when we had the state/country flags. I was nice. I think more than a handful would use that kind of feature. [noob-at-programming-language question] Maybe I'm saying bullcrap but if you took some feature off, would it be possible to have the flags? [/noob-at-programming-language question] Not sure one would check there after reading someone's post.
We have removed a crap load of things already and won't be adding anything in the near future. As Steve said, the site has to load those page by page everytime you click to a new post or forum and it adds load times to the site that we don't need, because then people complain that the pages aren't loading fast enough. You can also add what country you're from in the user title area if it's that important to anyone.
