Nate Quarry discusses his upcoming middleweight bout against undefeated Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist Demian Maia at UFC 91: “Couture vs. Lesnar” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 15. “The Rock” will be out to notch his third consecutive win since returning from major back surgery little more than one year ago. On the flip side, Maia a 2007 Abu Dhabi tournament winner has won all three of his 185-pound fights inside the Octagon since his debut with the promotion in October 2007, earning “Submission of the Night” honors each time out. If he were to make it four straight he’s likely set a record if he hasn’t already. Source: MMA Mania
Yep, as I said in the Official 91 thread......this fight is one of two that I'm looking forward to. Nate better not take Demian lightly, that kid is smooth.
Either I just don't recognize the name, or I haven't seen him fight yet. I missed some UFC's unfortunately, and he must have been on those cards.
You'll be pleasantly suprised......although this is a tough matchup for him. Quarry has bigtime KO power......hopefully you get to at least see a little bit of what he can do.
Anyone that can win an Abu Dhabi tournament has sick jiu-jitsu DD. How does his flexibility match up against Penn's?
