The Oakland Raiders have cut quarterback Jeff Garcia, a source tells Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com. As Florio explains, the veteran isn't likely to make another team's roster until after the first game of the regular season because his base salary would be guaranteed if he is on a Week 1 roster. Garcia had a calf strain for much of training camp that kept him from effectively pushing incumbent JaMarcus Russell, Cable said in August. Source: SportingNews.com
He is a terrible fit for Buf offense aside from the whole TO deal. He should go to Minnesota, so when Favre fails or inevitably pushes his luck to far and gets hurt, he would be an absolute perfect QB for them.
Haha, I'm thinking KC wouldn't be a bad place. He's relatively mobile. Based on Croyle and Thigpen lately it would be an upgrade at the #2.
I am surprised how many people think that he could play in a system other than the WCO. He is a QB who will do well on the short high percentage passes and be a game manager. If you ask him to do anything else, he will struggle mightily.
This plays perfectly in the Bears hands. I was surprised when he signed with the Bucs that the Bears never made a play for him then, and would slot in nicely backing up behind Cutler and giving Hanie some veteran help.
Ox is 100% right...Garcia can't play in anything other than the West Coast. He's got no arm, he struggles to throw a ball 20 yards. Look at his career with the Lions and Browns...anyone want him based on his performance with those two teams? I would hope not...
