Coming off offseason knee surgery, Raiders punter Shane Lechler is not booming them like he used to, He is ninth in the NFL in gross average at 48.2 yards (down from 50.8 last year) and is 27th in net average at 37.3 yards (down from 40.9). On Sunday against the Jaguars, he had six punts for a gross average of 44 yards and a net of 33.3. Raiders coach Dennis Allen doesn’t think Lechler’s knee has been a factor. “I don’t know if the knee is affecting him at all,†Allen said. “He’s still an extremely effective punter.
