Raiders left guard Robert Gallery had offseason back surgery to fuse vertebrae, widen the spinal canal and clean out calcium deposits. "It was a freak deal," Gallery said. "It is not very common. My vertebrae were hitting my spine, but there was no damage." Gallery was hospitalized for a week, but the rehabilitation was set to get him up as fast as possible. "I was doing light workouts within two weeks," he said. The Raiders' doctors cleared him for the minicamp, and the seventh-year veteran didn't miss a snap in five practices and head coach Tom Cable said Oakland is lucky to have Gallery back to lead an offensive line that had its troubles last season. "Fortunately, it wasn't in his lower back," Cable said. "He's good, with no issues." Source: San Francisco Chronicle
The O-line is better with Gallery. He has been good since finally moving back to guard. If he can just stay healthy.
