Despite skipping the final day of organized team activities, Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell has made good on his promise to work with his receivers for an extra week outside of team practices. Russell reportedly paid to fly the receivers to Alabama to work with him for this week. Russell has come under fire from everyone for his lack of work ethic, but he is showing a certain sense of maturity here and while the quarterback job is still his to lose, and acts like this can do nothing but help him out. lol he can certainly afford to pay to fly them out, and provide shelter, with his contract he got. mixed signals much, though? but who knows why he missed.
He's taking a step backward every time he tries to take one forward, hopefully he will get his crap together and become a decent quarterback and leader for the Raiders. The arm is there, the rest is mental and he struggling thus far.
I'm not a big Russell fan, I think Davis took a big gamble drafting such a questionable QB with the #1 pick. Qb's drafted at 1 are 50/50 as everyone knows, Ruussel does have a great arm, but he has questionable work ethic and is always overweight. Way too risky for me, but I hope I'm wrong fro Raiders fans.
should have gone with quinn or johnson...i didnt think russell was worth a top 20 pick, but i guess a nice sugar bowl can make an easy 30 mil
Calvin Johnson or Adrian Peterson were by far the safest picks in that draft IMO...and I think Brady Quinn was the QB pick if they were set on picking a QB. At least you know the kid is a hard worker, and he's smart, but I wouldn't have gone QB at 1.
calvin johnson was the only player that deserved #1 and adrian peterson was farrrrrrr from a safe pick that year, now it looks like a great idea though. quinn was head and shoulders the best QB in the draft imo, its a shame he has to be a brown and have mangini ruin him
well im sure when they got jeff that russel was abit worried lol all he has shown in the NFL is that he can win. (Jeff Garcia) The Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL. NO RESPECT!
