Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel tweeted that former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor had a Wonderlic score of 7. The Wonderlic test, as you may know, is mental aptitude test given to NFL prospects. According to Paul Zimmerman's The New Thinking Man's Guide to Pro Football, the average Wonderlic score for a quarterback is 24 out of 50. Terrelle Pryor, who was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the 2011 NFL Supplemental Draft, scored 7 out of 50, according to journalist Bob McGinn: "Wonder why Terrelle Pryor made so many on-, off-field bad decisions at #Ohio State? He scored 7 on Wonderlic IQ test. Yes, 7. Al Davis' QB." Source: NowPublic.com
Actually.....Russell scored about 4 times higher than Pryor. Russell met the average at 24 on his test.
Scoring high doesnt mean much either. Alex Smith scored a 47 or something... he didnt even throw that many TDs in his 6 year career...
Yet he's been able to stick with the same team for his seventh year and still competing for starting duties despite being an utter failure? Brains may have not helped his performance...but it certainly kept him in the league for a long time.
It was 40... :) Brains have kept him in the league for a long time, unfortunately for us it's the 49ers management brains not Alex's.
