The Raiders have signed former Cowboy linebacker Greg Eliis, presumably to shift the 3-4 outside linebacker to a 4-3 defensive end, according to Calvin Watkins at AOL Fanhouse. The initial thought was this could help send Derrick Burgess packing, but remember: they collected a few 30-something defensive players during this time last year (Greg Spires, Ed Hartwell) only to cut them during training camp. The deal is reportedly for three years, indicating the Raiders want him around more than they did others who usually got one-year contracts.

The Ticket reported this between 11 AM and noon today. While it looks to be a three-year deal, financial details have not been made public yet.

At least he will be prepared for a creepy old crazy man running things instead of the coaches.

My guess is the other 30 teams just seemed too well run.

Like the big signings the Redskins signed became Hall of Famers. Big names like Bruce Smith, Dana Stubblefield, Dan Wilkinson and Deion Sanders none of them lived up their signings.

Or like the time when you trade a future hall of fame CB in Champ Bailey AND 2nd round pick for a good but great RB in Portis.

And now you sign OG Dockery to big money deal who was a disappointment in Buffalo. After this year you will find out why the Raiders released Hall. He is overrated and not a shut down corner. Unfortunately we found out the hard way.
Yeah brilliant moves by the Skins.

    Little forgotten fact:

Oakland has won a playoff game more recently than Dallas has.

He comes back home for an incentive laden contract. Back to the team that gave him his first shot.
