The Oakland Raiders will release tight end Kevin Boss on Tuesday, Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports. Signed to a four-year, $16 million contract last August as a replacement for departing Pro Bowler Zach Miller, Boss caught 28 passes for 368 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games. Boss was due a $2 million base salary and has a $2 million roster bonus due later this week. Releasing Boss clears $2.5 million in salary cap room. Source: Mac's Football Blog
Well that was quick, he did have a pretty underwhelming season though, even though he was injured for some of it.
