Aaron Wilson, who typically is spot on in his league-wide news, reported that the Raiders have released veteran cornerback Lito Sheppard and second-year cornerback Walter McFadden in advance of the 3 p.m. deadline. Sheppard was signed eight days ago and played last night. Coach Hue Jackson is slated to speak in a conference call at 4 p.m. We should gain some insight into what went ino the decisions to cut Sheppard and McFadden at that time.
