An MRI showed St. Louis Rams right tackle Rodger Saffold suffered a sprained MCL in Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Saffold will not require surgery for the injury and is considered "week-to-week", although he will almost certainly be out for this week's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Competent backup tackle Joe Barksdale will take Saffold's place in the Rams' offensive line, which has performed well in the first two games. Saffold is a talented but injury-prone player who will undoubtedly return as soon as humanly possible, as this is his contract year. Saffold is looking for a big contract (and possibly a chance to play left tackle somewhere) in 2014. Source:The Redzone
