The Mardy Gilyard era in St. Louis is officially over. Gilyard announced on Twitter that the Rams had released the charismatic wide receiver out of Cincinnati. "Jus got released isshhh is getting real na ugh!!!!" Gilyard appeared in 11 games for the Rams in 2010, catching 6 balls for 63 yards. Gilyard was given ample opportunity during this year's preseason, seeing plenty of time on the second team and receiving most of the work returning punts and kickoffs for the Rams as head coach Steve Spagnuolo tried to give Gilyard the opportunities to succeed. Gilyard is the first of a crowded wide receiver crew that figures to get chopped as the Rams trim their roster to 53 players. Source: St. Louis Sports Minute
