ESPN NFL Insider Chris Mortensen reports the Rams will finalize a deal with free agent running back Cadillac Williams on Wednesday. While Williams and his bionic knees certainly aren't explosive, he'd be capable of carrying a decent-sized workload if Steven Jackson were to go down. Williams could also end up spelling Jackson on some third downs, but would barely get any early-down reps as long as Jackson is healthy Source: Rick Stroud: Twitter.com
It happens when you stay injured. Jackson staying healthy all season isn't guaranteed, so plugging Cadillac in won't be bad if they have to. The two can pound away at defenses.
Love this for the Rams. Caddy would've been my second choice behind Sproles for St. Louis. I think they may have been targeting Ronnie Brown...
