Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton had surgery Friday morning to repair a sports hernia, an injury he played through during the entire postseason, the team announced. Dr. William Meyers performed the surgery in Philadelphia, the second similar one he's done on Hamilton the past three years. In 2009, Hamilton suffered a partial tear of the abdominal muscle. This injury was on his left side. Hamilton is scheduled to return Saturday to Texas and is expected to make a full recovery before the start of spring training in February. Source:ESPN
