Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Jared Gaither is headed to Los Angeles on Saturday for another visit with back specialist Dr. Robert Watkins. Originally scheduled to miss 4-to-6 weeks with slight tear in his thoracic disk in early August, Gaither has only practiced one time (on a limited basis on Thursday) and may ultimately be placed on season-ending injured reserve. "Obviously, the clock is ticking on something like that," Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said on Friday. Since being chosen in the 2007 NFL Supplemental Draft, the 6-9 tackle from Maryland has started 28 games, primarily at left tackle. Gaither was expected to switch sides with 2009 first-round pick Michael Oher this season, but several ailments have kept him off the field. Gaither showed up to training nearly 30 pounds lighter than his regular playing weight of 340 pounds.
