Chad Clifton recently sustained a back injury that is delaying his return from a torn hamstring. Clifton suffered the torn hamstring Oct. 9 at Atlanta, and as his rehabilitation progressed the Packers projected he’d at least return to practice this week. However, coach Mike McCarthy today listed Clifton as having a back injury to go with the hamstring, the first time anything other than the hamstring has been on Clifton’s injury report. The Packers haven’t placed the left tackle on injured reserve, so they’re still expecting him back sometime this season. But the recent back injury appears to have set back Clifton’s return by at least a couple of weeks. “I don’t know if it’s one week, two weeks,†McCarthy said of Clifton’s return. “It’s something that’s knocked us off schedule. We thought this would be the week he would practice — I didn’t know if he’d be able to play this week. Any time you’re dealing with backs there’s always a little more uncertainty, and that’s in Chad’s case.â€
