The Washington Redskins agreed to terms with free agent kicker Neil Rackers on Tuesday, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports. Rackers had visited the Redskins on Monday and will compete with Graham Gano for the place-kicking duties. A sixth round pick out of Illinois by the Cincinnati Bengals, he ultimately revived his career with the Cardinals, peaking in 2005 when he led the NFL with 40 field goals made on a league-high 42 attempts, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors for the first and only time in his career. Rackers has spent the last two seasons with the Houston Texans, where he is 59-of-68 on field goal attempts with 28 touchbacks. With Rackers moving on, the Texans are the only NFL team without a kicker on their off-season roster.
