It’s a doubly whammy when a coach calls a player out for loafing on one play and then racking up unnecessary penalties on another. That’s the position Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall finds himself in as Mike Shanahan isn’t happy. An unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and a lazy play by Hall were contributing factors in the team’s loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday at FedEx Field. Shanahan criticized Hall for not finishing on the play but the mental lapse with the unsportsmanlike penalty seemed more irksome.“Especially when guys are in a leadership role, we understand that you have to keep your cool, regardless of if you like a call or don’t like a call,†Shanahan said, per Jones. “That’s your job to handle yourself in a professional manner, and more importantly, not put your team in a hole by having a 15-yard penalty. That’s one of the things that I talked about to our football team. You make too many of those mistakes and you’re not with us.†Source: National Football Post
