Washington Redskins running back Tim Hightower has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will miss the rest of the season, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Monday. Hightower hurt his knee early in the third quarter of Sunday’s loss to Carolina. Hightower had rushed for 88 yards on 17 carries Sunday before being injured. He missed the previous game against the Eagles with a shoulder problem. For the season, the Alexandria native and University of Richmond product gained 321 yards on 84 attempts, scoring one touchdown. Source: Washington Times
You know, I have to say heck the owners on this one. There's been SO many big injuries this year with players. This is what happens when they don't have OTA's and off season training regiments and trainers helping players get stronger. I know they're professionals and they should be doing it themselves but we're all realists here. Onto Hightower, that sucks. Dude was on his way to having a pretty respectable season. Sucks.
