The Redskins announced 21 roster cuts on Saturday, with running back Willie Parker, linebacker Robert Henson and wide receiver Terrence Austin among the more notable names. With the release of Parker and also Ryan Torain, the Redskins head into the regular season with Clinton Portis, Larry Johnson and rookie Keiland Williams as the team’s running backs. Henson and offensive tackle Clint Oldenburg were waived/injured. Henson and Oldenburg suffered knee injuries in the Redskins’ preseason finale last Thursday. Austin’s release was a mild surprise, considering that he led the offense with 10 catches for 146 yards and one touchdown in preseason. Source: Gary Fitzgerald, Redskins.com
