Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather plans to appeal the $42,000 fine that he received for a helmet to helmet hit on Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy, he said on Friday.

Meriweather in the first quarter of Sunday’s game knocked Lacy out of the game with a concussion, and in the next quarter knocked himself out of the game with another helmet to helmet hit.

Meriweather has been evaluated all week for lingering concussion symptoms, and is questionable to play on Sunday.

Meriweather in 2010 was fined $50,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit, and in 2011 received fines of $20,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit and $25,000 for unnecessary roughness.

Meriwether said that he could try to change his tackling style, but at the same time didn’t know how possible that was.

“I think everybody has to change the way they tackle,â€￾ Meriweather told reporters in the locker room Friday. “They say hit low, but I done seen people get concussions from hitting low, too, you know? Honestly, I think it’s no real way, no real safe way, to play this game. You know what you signed up for. You know what it is. I think if you’re gonna do it, then you do it 100 percent.â€￾

This is how you do it Brandon.. you run up really fast to the player. STOP. Let them catch it. Then hug him and fall to the ground. That's real football right there!
