Washington Redskins nose tackle Albert Haynesworth had his court date for a simple assault charge postponed until May 26 on Wednesday. Haynesworth was originally due to appear in court on the charge, which stems from a from an alleged road rage incident in Reston, VA on Feb. 4, at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. According to the police report from the incident, a 38-year-old man driving a 1994 Honda Civic and another driver– allegedly Haynesworth– were traveling down the Fairfax County Parkway about 9 a.m. when the Civic driver believed that a pickup was tailgating and gave the driver a “non-verbal hand gesture.†The driver of the pickup got out at the next stoplight, had a brief exchange of words with the Civic driver, and hit him.
