Zack Bolno, the Redskins’ executive director of communications for the last two seasons, has “abruptly leftâ€￾ the franchse, reports Jason Reid of the Washington Post. Bolno worked the team’s game Saturday night against the Baltimore Ravens at FedEx Field but by this afternoon, he was gone and Tony Wyllie, hired in May as a senior vice president overseeing public relations, among other things, would not comment on the matter. Bolno was well liked by media and it should be noted that the addition of Wyllie in the spring was hailed as a positive step by Redskins owner Daniel Snyder. Bolno had to work through difficult times during the Jim Zorn era. Per Reid, Wyllie, who came to the Redskins after a successful stint with the Houston Texans, has retained some members of Bolno’s staff.

He did not leave. He was fired.

Zack Bolno, the Redskins' executive director of communications the past two seasons, confirmed Sunday that the team fired him. "I've enjoyed my two-plus seasons with the Redskins organization," Bolno said in a phone interview. "I worked with some wonderful people and we shared some great experiences and challenges. I would like to thank my loyal, dedicated and supportive public relations staff and wish them the very best." Bolno declined to provide details of the reasoning behind the move, saying he would let the Redskins answer those questions. Contacted on his cell phone, Tony Wyllie, senior vice president, would only confirm Bolno no longer is with the organization, saying the team does not discuss personnel matters. Wyllie joined the organization in May. Formerly a vice president with the Houston Texans, Wyllie has retained Michael Pehanich and Matt Taylor from Bolno's staff, and he recently promoted Taylor.

Now word on the street, which may have nothing to do with this, somebody hit the PA play button to "Hail To The Redskins"..........after the Ravens scored a touchdown. I've confirmed this from a couple of sources.
