Rex Grossman went to the podium in front of the media today as the starting quarterback of the Washington Redskins and that left John Beck to consider what could have been. May felt all along it was Beck who would triumph in the quarterback competition – and the feeling way back during the lockout was he would be the passer selected by Mike Shanahan to lead the team. But Grossman got the nod and Beck acknowledged he’s none too happy. “I knew a decision was going to have to be made,†Beck said, according to Rick Maese of the Washington Post, in his first comments since Grossman was named starter. “One of us was going to be the guy and the other one was going to be pissed. I was the guy that was pissed. But I’m not going to let that disturb me. I don’t want that to hold me back from anything.†Source: National Football Post
His comment was spot on. It shows fire in Mr. Beck. If he sat back and said "eh, it's fine" I'd be pissed as a Skins fan. It's all good, Grossman can't put together a whole season so don't worry homes! You'll be in there soon enough.
