In an interview with Kelli Johnson of CSNWashington.com, quarterback Rex Grossman proclaimed that the Redskins will win the NFC East in 2011. “We’re fine being the sleepers right now,†Grossman said, before doing his best to wake everyone up to the Redskins. Or to provide comic relief to the rest of the league. “We’re just waiting in the wings ready to take over the NFC East. Nobody’s talking about us, it’s right where we wanna be. You look at us from top to bottom out here, there’s a bunch of great players. And we don’t need people saying we’re the best right now. The Redskins aren't a sleeper... They're Dead. Come on Rexxy, there's a higher chance of them going 0-16 than to win the NFC East with their crapty team.
'You know, all the teams in our division are pretty good.' I'm hoping we can at least come out with 6-8 wins this year.' Of course he is gonna say this. What else should he say? He should have said he expects his team to win the Super Bowl. Winning the division doesn't mean crap.
Just another case of people going crazy over a guy saying the only thing he can say. He can't say theyre going to lose. And if they do win, it will be in spite of Grossman, if he starts.
He could keep his mouth shut. Or "We're going to do all we can do to win the division." But .. just flat out saying it? C'mon now. I understand having confidence. But..you're playing for the Redskins.
