Redskins TE Fred Davis ruptured his left Achilles tendon in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Giants.

Davis will miss the rest of the season and he may have played his last down with the Redskins, as his contract will expire at the end of this year.

Davis pulled up lame near the end zone as the Skins were knocking on the door. He hobbled off the field without putting any weight on his left foot and it was abundantly clear that Davis wasn't dealing with a garden-variety ankle sprain. The USC product was diagnosed of the tear without an MRI and could face of rehab of eight months, although Terrell Suggs returning so soon is an encouraging sign and shows the progress of modern medicine to one of the most debilitating injuries a player can sustain.

Damn. I feel bad for him. That's a big blow for the Skins.

Be a long road back from surgery. Take at least 6 months most likely a year to recover. Ruptured mine back in late April. Just now going back to work and still not 100%.
