The Washington Redskins will restrict tailgating the FedEx Field parking lots this season, limiting the popular pregame activity to "the last few rows of each lot," according to an e-mail some season ticket holders have received from the team. Under a "New Tailgating Policies" headline, the team also told fans that all entering vehicles will be directed to specific spaces instead of being allowed to choose their own. "It's ridiculous," said Ted Abela, who arrives at the stadium around 5:30 a.m. and hosts dozens of tailgaters a few yards from the stadium entrance. "People that arrive there first and get there early are being reprimanded and moved to the back of the parking lot. And some guy that's not even a fan, that gets there 30 minutes before the game, gets to park right in the front of the lot? It's absurd. We pay [hundreds of dollars] to park at basically eight games, and we can't choose our own spot, we can't park by our friends?" Redskins to Institute Tailgating Restrictions - washingtonpost.com
what a load of crap the tail gaiting thru out the parking lots is awsome even i enjoy it and i hate fed ex
It's crap like this that makes me not want to go to NFL games anymore. They don't make it hard for you to be a fan of your favorite team but they make it hard for you to want to come to the game. Every team has long time season ticket holders who tailgate at the game and this is the thanks they get for staying loyal? What a crock of crap. It wouldn't suprise me if tailgating was banned all together one of these days.
If they did that @ Arrowhead the fans would burn the city down.:lmao: I don't think tailgating is allowed in the parking lot at the new Cards field only in the surrounding areas not the actual parking lot.
At the bottom of the article they reference that the Cowboys did this last year and will be carrying it over to the new stadium. They said most fans support the new regulations. "For the most part it's been excruciatingly positive," said operations director Ron Underwood. That's freaking bull crap.... Fed Ex Field was already a horrible crap hole of a place to go see a game. Now it's going to be truly freaking pathetic. UUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I've never experienced tailgating but I understand how popular it is. I don't like what the league is becoming. It has already begun with the Superbowl being transformed to a flat corporate event... Keep the fans in the stands! Soon we'll have people with signs telling spectators when to applause, when to boo, etc. BULLCRAP!
Instead of sending them to the back of the parking lot, how about limiting the number of spaces some of these tailgaters take up. The occasional extra spot is alright but when people take up 3-4 spots and only have one car parked there is bull crap. It's bull crap that they are sending them to the back of the lots...I bet if a corporation offers them a nice chunk of change to park up front and tailgate, they take the money and run...
wow - thats hecked up. i understand trying to limit the amount of spots a group takes up because we deal with dopes that take five spots to tailgate and they are cracking down on it. it's called a tailgate because you hang at your vehicle's "TAILGATE" not in the 4 empty spots you took up with your faggy tent & fruit loop sound system.
