The Washington Redskins will sign free agent punter Hunter Smith to a one-year deal, the Washington Post reports. A seventh-round pick (210th overall) in 1999 out of Notre Dame by the Indianapolis Colts, Smith has a career net average of 35.6 yards on 634 punts during his 11-year career. Smith averaged 36.8 yards on 57 punts in 13 games for the Redskins last season. Redskins punter Josh Bidwell injured his hip during warm-ups before the team's Week 3 loss to the St. Louis Rams, with place-kicker Graham Gano handling the punting duties that day. Son of a snitch.....looks like were rolling with Dodge for the unseen future. Next best free agent punter imo is Mitch Berger.....he would definitely be a one year solution.
