A couple of years back many people on this site including some Cowboys fans were upset, when the Cowboys took Ware instead of Merriman. This continued on for like a yr after too bc Ware wasnt getting the same sacks as Merriman. I remember pointing out to people that ware was doing a whole lot more than just rushing the QB. Fast forward 5 yrs and where is Merriman and where is Ware. IMO Ware has done much better in the last couple of years and developed into a better LB. After Merriman was busted for using illegal substances he has since disappeared. He is not the dominating force he was once was
I'm so glad the Cowboys didn't take Merriman. You did hear that Ware was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his three-sack game last Sunday against the Texans, didn't you? It's the fourth time he's won it in his career.
I remember when Bill and Jerry drafted Ware.. It didn't bother me a bit that we got him. At that point and time I would of taken either one. (Ware or Merriman) But I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad we have Ware, he is a beast on the field and a class act off. Did anyone see that special on ESPN about Ware and his wife adopting that little girl? I am not gonna lie, that made me tear up a little. lol
Merriman got busted for steroids. Just imagine if he was a Cowboy. I'm glad we didn't take him, and I was glad back in '05 when we took Ware.
