NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Monday he has not made a final decision about how long Ben Roethlisberger's suspension will last and that he intends to meet with the Steelers QB again. Goodell banned Roethlisberger for 4-6 games in April for a violation of the league's personal-conduct policy. He said he would consider the smaller four-game ban if Roethlisberger adhered to the terms of the punishment that included a behavioral adjustment program. Roethlisberger has since completed behavioral counseling and apologized for what he said was "dumb" and "immature" behavior. Goodell told the NFL Network he thinks fans in Pittsburgh might welcome Roethlisberger back if he shows remorse and tries to made amends. "People understand when they make mistakes as long as you acknowledged your mistake and you're trying to deal with it, I think the fans will support you. And I think they'll support Ben as long as he's serious about making decisions going forward. I'll meet with Ben before the start of the season. We'll make a determination then." Source: USA Today
Roethlisberger has done everything he's been asked to and has stayed out of trouble since the incident. Hold up your end of the bargain Goodell.
What bargain was that? Don't rape anyone and we will let you play 2 weeks early? The guy has to show he has changed. Not that he can behave for a month. You guys can cry if this time after week 4 Goodell hasn't decided.

Yea that was the bargain actually. How else can you prove you're changed other then not rape? It was Goodell's dumb stipulation now he needs to stick by it.
Originally I wanted him to get 6 weeks, but if Vince Young can get off with nothing for throwing the first punch on video, Roethlisberger shouldn't be suspended at all since he wasn't even charged the second time and was never brought to trial or convicted of any crimes. Hell, there's not even evidence that he did it like Young's video.
where was he convicted of rape? if you want to say that if Ben doesn't get "falsely accused" of rape, that works for you. If you've read any of the original stories, you'd know that was the exact deal. But then again, you believe he was convicted of rape...twice. So its easy to see where you might be confused. DNA Tests...they're a great thing!!
Ben should've been charged for being an idiot. Which he was... Young (and Benson for that matter) should've gotten something as well imo.
Its actually very simple. Ben will be back after 4 games as long as he stays out of the headlines. Don't give the commish any reason to wait til after game 6, and it will be cool...
